Got a set of these for sale, in excellent used condition. Similar spec to PT81's, you can run them without pocketed pistons but it is advisable to pocket the pistons.

I also have a set of Longman btcc valve springs that can be included as Piper recommend upgrading the valve springs although most people run them on standard valve springs.

£300 for the cams

£150 for the springs

Standard set of pistons can be included for free with both the above, plus the cost of pocketing if you want me to arrange it.

Don't wanna get flamed but these are listed as stage 3 and ultimate road on the piper website but don't really understand the degree of lift etc. will these run, along with pocketed pistons and the valve springs on an otherwise standard engine...? And what would be the difference to power delivery/power etc

Yes they will run but you'd benefit from a remap. Otherwise standard engine will be fine, the heads are really good as standard and will flow considerably more than the standard cams ask of it, revs won't need to go up much if at all, and generally the engine will take more revs within reason. As long as your current engine I'd in good health all should be fine.

Oh, and power wise I'd expect around 190ish with a remap. Although others have seen over 200 with the similar Kent PT81's.

Pocketed pistons are £100 via Bridgecraft engineering.

I take it all the extra power is at the top of the Rev range?

Not necessarily, Piper says they 'work' from 2000-7500 which isn't too dissimilar to the standard cams but you'll have more pull across the whole rev range and they will pull for a touch longer. Standard cams start to ease off around 6800-7000, these will go a bit longer. They shouldn't affect low down power at all really but they might come on cam a touch later.

Its been about 10 years since I ran 285h's, my engine made 199bhp with Jenvey 45's also but I haven't used these, they came in a head I bought.

There not a rally or race cam, they are designed to be driven on the road, so expect low down driveability to be barely affected.

Pete,

My mate Luke (Hes on here as SCTyres) will have these. His bottom end just gave up the other day so is rebuilding. Already running TBs so these will go nicely with his engine.

He will be in touch with you on Monday. Can you PM me a contact number please Pete?

Bens mate seems to be having cash flow and engine issues unfortunately so he wasn't able to buy them, although he wanted them. They are now off to Australia, and yes springs have sold as well.

I do have another set of springs that were used with 12mm lift cams (still got the cams too!) which I'd be happy to sell.

Dunno whats going on here but the guy in Oz now wants the springs but not the cams. Not sure I want to split but currently the cams only are back up for sale.
