The new engine will have throttle bodies, 4-2-1, ported and polished head. Eventually it will probably get cams and pocketed pistons but that's not on the plate for right now.

At what point should I be looking at using ARP head studs and rod bolts? I'm getting everything read for the new race car engine build and not sure if they're worth getting, particularly the head studs. The new engine will have throttle bodies, 4-2-1, ported and polished head. Eventually it will probably get cams and pocketed pistons but that's not on the plate for right now. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

If you're revving it higher than 7.5k I'd recommend rod bolts but I'd say head studs aren't needed I have them but only for 2 bar of boost ________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

Cheers Ross, rod bolts might make sense then. No current plans to raise the limit but better to be safe than sorry. Decent set of GSF head bolts should do me fine ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Are there any recommended lubricants for normal head bolts? I saw somewhere that ARP provide some for their head studs?________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |
