As above, anyone got a new cat fitting kit kicking around before I go to dealers/ebay?

I've had dealer ones when I had my S16 as getting the right one was a nightmare

I've also had numerous standard eBay / ECP / Andrew Page ones, without any problems, and for about a third of the price of dealer

Fair enough. Thanks for the info.
I was under the impression that the dealerkits were universal for all larger petrol engined 306s?

I know it is off-topic, but I looked at these when I was looking at cat options (ended up getting my OE one welded), and wondered if they were any good. Maybe someone could write a FAQ on cat replacement options?

That FAQ will probably become more and more useful as time goes on!

I'll post up pictures of the repair I'll get done to mine.

Bumping this, I have loads of cat fitting kit parts lying around, the problem is I have all of the bits but I'm not sure about which bolts are the correct length as I have various lengths here. I'm aware that it is the "middle length" bolt out of the kit but I can't be 100% sure which of the bolts I have would be that length.

Is anyone able to give me the length of the correct bolts? Both overall length and distance from the head/taper to the thread? Any info that would help me determine whether or not I have the correct parts or I'd have to buy more bits would be very much appreciated.

pick one you can get the nut started without compressing the spring
pick a short one you will be cussing
pick a long one you will sound like an OC members tractor

I did the first one, but it didn't compress enough so maybe it is long.

I have acess to a ramp but I don't want to obtain that access, drive the car a long way without much of an exhaust (my cat outlet pipe has now snapped again), and then find I don't have the correct parts.

I have bolts which are shorter than the ones I used but if I used the long ones and my other ones are shorter, I don't know whether or not they are the medium, correct ones or the ones which are too short.

I could measure the length of the two sizes I didn't use.

Done the sigma not that long ago, and honestly I think everything is so distorted through the heat, it's trial and error, couple of washers on the old kit and a £4 gsf ring sorted it for me.

The two sizes I didn't use were, complete length 65.5mm and 72mm.
No idea if I used the correct pair but they went on easy enough and it doesn't leak.

Brilliant! Yeah I think I have various springs as well, perhaps I need the same bolt but a longer spring then.

A while ago I bought multiple kits and struggled to make any of them fit correctly.

I've always found that when its a struggle to get the nut on for the first thread or two the setup is then pretty good at keeping itself sealed. Probably more awkward for me though as i do it laying on my back under the car making access much harder. LOL
