What was your impression of the kit?
Did it take a lot of work to fit, or have you pretty much bolted and bonded on?

I'm doing an Impreza S5 WRC using kevlar panels, and it's taking a lot of work to say the least!

Currently debating whether the little Rallye stays as is, or is next for wide arches! Will be watching your progress with interest.

All the best

The kit was pretty good, though I have nothing to compare it too. It s the rear quarter panels that I struggled with. To be honest its the first time I have bonded fibreglass panles to a car, but when I align the top of the panel to rear window, the bottom edge didn't lign up properly between the door shut and sill. Also the rear part of the panel that fits just under the rear lights sticks out too much. I had to build loads of fibreglass filler just to make it match. In hindsight I think it would have been easier just to cut off that part and blend it in with fibreglass filler instead. Anyway like I said it was my first attempt.
You could I think use the original side skirts to save money too, though I had already bought them so didn't try using my original ones.
Front wings are dead simple just put on, drill the holes for the bolts and it done.
Sorry don't have many pictures, have a big pro Nikon not a little snappy camera, so its not always to hand.

How's this coming along - any progress?

I recall you were struggling a bit with the front suspension?

Cheers

Had the second most enjoyable day working on the car (first was mapping on the rolling road last year), over two hours of masking up. nearly there.
Nearly ready for the oven.
My friend Pablo at work.
After all that time masking and wrapping, it takes minutes to pull it all off!.
Luckily the sun was out by the time I got home, so could align the doors properly.
My 9 year old sons artistic shot.

Had to take it out the next day, though it still needed bits of overspray cleaning off and the bodywork needs buffing, may get that done this Saturday if the rain holds off.
Bonnet needs to be done next as well as the front suspension.

Looking good bud, are you just using wheel spacers at the minute?

With all the dimma's being built at the moment we should try and sort a meet.

Yep its a bold colour, Norfolk Mustard, saw a Lotus Elise at Goodwood last month and thought that's the one. Only thing is, its a bit too close to JCB yellow. Well i'm putting mudflaps on front and rear, or do you mean the wheel arch lining?.
Pugfest looks interesting but is over a hundred miles away for me and would rather get the car decent before taking somewhere where it will be noticed.

My suspension is nearly ready...........

hehe..

Doesn't matter if it's not finished and it's well over a hundred miles for most people lol. About 2.5-3hours drive for me depending on traffic / how far I put my foot down. Still go every year and give the car a good spanking up the hill Smile

Like the colour btw nice to see one that will stand out and is a bit different.

Are the mirrors staying red or being sprayed too?

Its just that I hadn't planned on going and a bit far to just pop down to, anyway its an F1 weekend for me and the boys. Yep mirrors staying red, will have red mudflaps and the lip of the spoiler with the left over strips of mudflap material.
Thanks for the compliments chaps.

My home brew wishbone, two 5mm thick steel plate bolted through the balljoint with five 10mm bolts and steel spacers in between. Should be strong enough, as long as I don't hit any massive potholes!.

And you too Oliver, yes the chances of that happening, I didn't even realise until I turned round to open my door. Your car attracted allot of attention today, just walk towards the crowd, and that's where a Blue Dimma would be, I think I got some nice pictures, if you want I can post them here or send them to you.

Thank's clen666, progress for now is just to enjoy it through winter, wishbones seem ok, though only done maybe 100 odd miles, more conscious of even the smallest pot hole now though.

Yup ALOT of attention, more than I personally liked though as every time I went to go and meet my mates I got asked questions and asked to open the bonnet.
I don't really enjoy shows and meets when I take my car as I just get stuck talking to people and don't get to see much my self.

Post them on here or in my project thread if you don't want them cluttering up yours bud
