Trying to get hold of a multi layer steel gasket but no one seems to have any in stock and cant get any in for a few days! Whats the benefits of running the multi layer steel gaskets over the fibre gaskets? Apart from the price?

Chris, speak to Carl (mechanical repairs) if I'm struggling to get bits I normally give him a bell and he can normally sort me out.

Personally I don't think they're as hard wearing, and just by the nature of what they're made of I don't trust them but that's just me. If it was me use a proper one, do it right do it once so to speak, just my opinion though! Thumbs up

where have you tried? I had no issues getting hold of o.e gasket nor Victor Reinz from GSF, I wouldnt use any other brand, ultra parts ones are crap.

Yup this is spot on. Why buy a cheese fibre aftermarket gasket when genuine is Multi layer steel and is same price if not cheaper I've found.

Which do you think is stronger.... Metal.... Yes Or fibre.... No No

nothing wrong with fibre, you wont find a metal gasket on the alloy xu engined for example.

405 T16 used a fibre gasket.

Fibre are never the same price as MLS, £15-20 for a decent one Smile
