Hi Guys, would like a little help please.

I have a T reg 306 Rallye and the interior light doesn't operate when the doors are opened but will when manually switched on with the key in the ignition.

Any pointers where to start looking please.

door switch..take them off, clean the screw and the surface and put it back.. must be a good connection between the surface of the switch and the car...
if its not help then you'll need new switches.. around 5 quid on ebay..

Mine don't.but I have been wondering about this also. I really miss turning off the ignition and the lights staying on for a bit. likewise would make getting the key in the ignition that bit easier

No, only work with accessory power or the door being open more than about 15 degrees depending on the setting. No fancy linger or unlock activation, too French for that

Thanks for the reply's guys, I'll get them cleaned or replaced as required.

Another quick question, the key fob range seems a little short. Can I change the battery without needed to re-code the fob?

Hi Kenan,

Good to see you're on the case with sorting those niggles! The fob batteries is pretty new, I only changed them a month or two ago so it won't be that. It is quite a bit better than it was before! It is mostly a case of getting the aim right, but I think the infra red remotes always have a pretty short range.

(And yes you can change the battery without recoding or anything like that, it is just a straightforward swap.)

just be careful when you're taking off the switch...the wire can slip off from the swich very easily and if its does and fall back in the hole..then good luck to pull it out.. Wink

You sound like the wife !! Have adjusted my aim and now works much better Thumbs up Plan to work my way through the niggles and get her sorted. I might of temporarily encouraged the radiator to stay in place with a cable tie or two . . .

I have proved the switch is at fault (I think) by earthling one terminal on the switch off the car resulting in a working light and now have on one order to prove the point.

It was only the door switches at fault, assumed it would be more complicated but not complaining.

The connector on the end of the loom was the same size as the hole the switch was sat in so no way I was getting the switch out with the wire attached. This lead me with a solution to retrieve the wire, just stick a flat head screwdriver into the terminal, twist it tight and remove.

Yeah those door ajar switches are shockingly terrible, break down all the time, but I guess the rubber boots wear out and let water and what have you into the switch. But I've replace numerous quantities of them.
