Thanks - another on the beer list Thumbs up

You have pretty much promised to buy everyone on the forum a beer at some point in time. Big grin

This is true...that's because

a) I like beer
b ) I can't fix cars...but i can drink beer
c) That's how we are up here (drunk or friendly you choose!) Hint: Ignore the Daily Mail and Cameron and Co. Wink
d) I've had lots of help Cheers
e) I have met more people with Fat Datsuns than i have 306's
f) If you make it up this far you deserve a beer!

PS - i know you were first i the queue Wink

I use Mikita combi drill at work 4th one in 5 years and the batteries suddenly stop charging. Saying that i stick with it because of the performance but there's better stuff on the market depends on how much you abuse power tool to be fair

Should get yourself a Makita then (sorry!) Big grin

and of course, once you buy one Makita tool, you can;t help but buy another one...

I've that gun and it's quite good. Has saved me hours and hours dismantling cars.

I got a bare combi drill body on offer £40 odd.

Been tempted by the grinder and reciprocating saw Big grin

yeah I've got a combi drill or drill driver, specific model I dont recall, angle grinder, impact wrench, reciprocating saw and a Lamp.

my brother has the same impact driver, a drill, the site radio, 110v SDS drill and a mitre saw, also a circular saw IIRC!

the 18v grinder is ok for scrapyard stuff and really light work, but you'll be flattening the standard 3Ah batteries quite quickly if you use it hard, you can get 4Ah batteries.

all LXT 18v stuff so all my stuff is compatible with my brothers 18v batteries too.

Annoyingly (well not really it was nice present) this is what i have and haven't used - shame it's not an impact wrench. That would have been handy. Came with a drill which I've used once. I've still got a Bosch corded one i've had for 20 years that i use to make a mess of my house

    http://www.makitauk.com/products/cordless-tools/impact-drivers/all-cordless-impact-drivers/dtd129rfe-18v-impact-driver-li-ion.html

Think i'll get the corded one that Barry recommended at £40 (will hold off till i've done a bit more research)

I like that its torquey Big grin 450nm (not bad for a wee thing!)

Change everything at once mate then get the car on a proper 4 wheel laser aligner. Only the tracking is adjustable but will line the fronts up properly with the rears.

    Definitely. Much simpler that way.

Oh yeh, it's always good for a laugh. And it works as a "How not to" Guide too Big grin

In advance be prepared for threads like the following:

    1) I've broken this bit...what is it called? And where can i get a new one.
    2) Can't get this one bolt off....i'm going to set the car on fire.
    3) The elated i managed to actually remove something and not break anything in the process - the car is the best thing is the world
    4) I've broken something again
    5) Anybody know of a good mobile mechanic in Glasgow
    6) Anybody recommend a good blow torch...i'm not going to set the car on fire...honest
    7) Did i mention my AC works.
    8) What colour should i refurb my wheels - that's the level of modding i'm going to stick to Smile
    9) My car still hasn't reached 37,000miles and it's getting too cold to work on!

Throughout this i will be missing one part, component, bolt to get the job done in a nice smooth fashion so it will drag on for the whole of 2015! Big grin

I Keep telling myself I'm going to get a nice powerful electric driver gun, I had to hire one last year to remove the crank pulley on mondeo as there's no locking hole in it.

I take it that it was you who snuck in and bought that B12 kit on oc?
Refreshing everything + a cheap B12 kit was my overall plan, should make it an excellent drive.

Remove it and sell it to me before setting your car on fire please. Laugh my ass off

Yeah sorry Luke. Just lucky to be at home with man flu when it was posted up. Will keep an eye open for a set for you.

It's becoming a very expensive fire if I go that way Smile
