The front interior light unit in my car, which has a tiny fan in it for what im assuming is a climate control sensor has developed an annoying rattle. Has anyone else had this and how did you deal with it? How do you remove the assembly from the roof and is it a sealed unit? Its been noisy for years, most notably when you start from cold and have the ignition switch in position two with the engine off and no engine noise to disguise it, however, now its properly rattling and resonating with engine vibrations. Any advice appreciated. ________________________________________ Team Peugeot Sport 308 GtiBlack T'99 Gti - may she rest in peace - written off in a shunt on the A329m |

You carefully pry the door light to the side and out, then two t20 screws hold the casing in, pry down wards and pull forwards to slip out. I think that little fan unit is held in by some micro Philips head screws IIRC but can't remember in there's a plug connection or not. Race car one long gone |

I'll give that a try tomorrow ________________________________________ Team Peugeot Sport 308 GtiBlack T'99 Gti - may she rest in peace - written off in a shunt on the A329m |

Yeah you can definitely get to it, just use gentle persuasion and patience for removing everything. Nothing like snapping one of the stays and having the whole piece sag from the roof. But surely someone will have a spare if you happen to or want to replace your little blower |

Took it apart the other day, loads of dust. Got it apart enough to get a bit of oil near the shaft. Dunno iftit got there but now not rattle and very little noise. Mission accomplished. Anyone know how much a new one is? ________________________________________ Team Peugeot Sport 308 GtiBlack T'99 Gti - may she rest in peace - written off in a shunt on the A329m |
