yup just wind the nuts till they bottom out.

nylocs will be useless there though, the o.e locking nuts are more suited to that application.

Not that it really matters but i thought there should be 4 washers and one sits on top of the spring against the "flange"

I also make my own bolts with thread as i always find that the bolts supplied with those kit don't do up enough for my liking, they always seem to let a little fart noise out when putting your foot down.....

Ive tried all sorts over the years and still find my "home made kit" works just as good.

An 8mm threaded bar with a 10mm nut on top wound down a few mm, cut down the middle of the threaded bar with a hacksaw down to 10mm nut. Then burr the ends over the nut with a hammer and your done- cant remember if i put a washer on the bottom of the nut or not so it doesn't pull through. its always worked for me.

Or you could just buy a kit.....

I get a 10mm nut with an 8mm thread and put it on.....simple. My old man has a lot of stuff in his shed.

Maybe he ment a 10mm head as in a 10mm socket.
Where's the bloody common sense gone to with some people, unless you allready knew that and was just been awkward as usual
