Hi folks,

My 6 has a standard spec but non oem exhaust that was fitted just before I got the car so less than a year old. I'm just wondering if these lose power as they're not oem spec, the backbox is a completely different shape.i have a reciept for it for £125 so it isn't a cheap job but the car does feel a bit wheezy in all honesty.

I've driven a few with these on and compared to a car with either genuine standard or good aftermarket (magnex etc) they always seem to be slow.

It could be a coincidence but when you look at how badly made they are on the bends etc it wouldn't surprise me at all if they loose a bit of power. The same goes for a non OE cat to be honest

The pattern cheap back boxes of the usual silener shape do restrict power. The backbox should be large more rectangular with ribs like the type bmw use to silence their carsSmile

Have you tried removing the back box and see how it drives then?

Carl

No I haven't actually Carl, I'll give that a crack.Although any back box I put on after that will probably make it feel slow! If you come across any standard units Carl then give me a bell please.
