Okay so Focal 165's are the ones to get for the 6 to pair with the stock HU but which one. There are appear to be about 20 different models of 165!! eg AC, A1, FX, V33, F3, PS, AS, KR etchttp://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/275-7078755-2445128?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=focal+165 Confused.com ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |

I'd just read on the various 306 forums that the Focals were the one to get. And i have them in the fat datsun. HOWEVER speaking to a audio bod pal of mine who runs his own company and used to supply Focal he recommened Hertz and then said if i was staying with stock HU Adison Prima's would be best. I'll have to audition them at some point! ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |

Do you really want to stay with the stock HU? Unless you want to retain stock look inside the car a 2nd hand alpine or similar will be much better and gives much more flexibility in how you play your media.Mine was 60something 2nd hand and it plays usbs, controls the ipod from the steering wheel, has a full-colour lcd screen etc. Noticable increase in SQ just from fitting the HU. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Well i want to stay with the stock look and not have too much of an aftermarket look. But you're right a HU change would make sense! Especially in terms of USB sticks. I'm now starting to get a little bit fed up of the CD skipping Will see have to do some research into what can be fitted and not look too aftermarket! More $$$$ (this place is bad!) ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |

As a headunit upgrade, can't go wrong with the below.I have bought two of them for two different cars now. For £70 you can't go wrong. Doesn't have a CD player mind you, but it does USB and is bluetooth and works perfectly with iPhone, and I have all my music digital and no CDs so it works for me. Definitely worth buying if you aren't bothered about CD player like myself. http://www.halfords.com/sat-nav-audio/car-audio/dab-radios-car-stereos/alpine-ute-72bt-drive-less-head-unit-with-bluetooth-and-ipod |

I have one of these fitted in my Rallye. Great piece of kit IMO. Got Alpine speakers fitted in the doors too, not sure which ones as were fitted before my ownership. Rear speakers are stock and need a little rear fader but they do punch well when cranked up.________________________________________ China D Turbo HDi daily chargerBlack Rallye occassional toy |

I've got silver facia on my phase 2. So i guess i'd need something to make it blend it better. But thanks for the link. Good to see. ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |

Thanks. I've got silver facia on my phase 2. So i guess i'd need something to make it blend it better. But thanks for the link. Good to see. Mine is no longer black and is now flocked in a similar colour to the alcantara. Yes the silver fascia might be a bit more difficult to blend with an aftermarket HU. There are HUs on the market with good SQ and subtle, almost standard looks but they tend to be pretty expensive, at least that is what I concluded from googling them. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

As per usual I start looking at HUs last night starting with the alpine above and end up at the Pioneer 80prs!! Which then leads to speakers, amp etc. . Costing more than the car without fitting..... ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |

I should never go near the SQ rabbit hole ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |

Thanks for the pics. My bit around the stereo is black. It might look better like yours. Will try and see.I have another reason for getting the 80Prs. On my other car the clarion made hu/info system is prone to failure (i've had 2 go in 4 years under warrant) and if it does again (now out of warranty) i would put the 80Prs in for the sounds part of the unit. You can't remove the unit as it's all integrated but a clever bod has come up with a package to tap into the MFD wires. I'd actually like that ecause the set up is held back by the HU. I'm still at work doing a server build (30+ hours of firkling the last 2 days with 3 aborted efforts) so i might just treat myself anyway! ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |
