Got a 6 with no handbrake. What parts might be needed to replace it? Handle, cables (is it 1, or 2?), anything else? Does the cable go straight to the rear caliper?Ta. ________________________________________ "Talking about badgers is life. Have you laid under the back with someone else operating the handbrake to see what movement you have?2 cables, one each side. They go to a lever arm on the caliper. ________________________________________ ![]() |

two cables, one running to each caliper next to the exhaust tunnelhandbrake itself is the lever bolted to the floorpan (2x nuts) and that's about it. that pulls a horizontal bar with two notches out of it which in turn grip the handbrake cables and yank them. i am going to assume you knew this anyway ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

It was the cable bit and how it attached to the caliper; one of the few parts of a car I've never got involved with breaking before. ![]() Dan - it has no handbrake. No lever, I'm assuming no cables either (although I haven't looked underneath the car). As long as the lever on the caliper is still there then it'll be sweet. Cheers for the info. ![]() ________________________________________ "Talking about badgers is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" Steve McBadgerTransversa aurigatio transcurro arvae. |

whatever he offers it to you for, tell him you have found the same part elsewhere for 50p less, and he'll knock another quid off. fact of the day________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |
