Tried to fit an OMP lower brace to my gti-6 but the engine is constantly resting on it so had to take it off again. Does anyone know a solution to this?
Cheers,
Will

Mine are rigid. But are solid bar. As they are only small the weight difference wasn't to bad, plus the bar was free from work... The guys who run them seem to love them. But Phillipm does make the from two bits of tube so will be lighter than mine. But if you want to modify your omp a welding shop would knock up something using your existing ends pretty quickly.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Cheers for the advice. Can't understand why it won't fit though. Thought maybe there was something wrong with the engine mounts and it was sitting lower than it should? Will keep an eye out for something to replace it. OMP lower brace for sale..... anyone? |

For whatever reason the sump is a lot lower than all the other models and OMP obviously didn't take the gti6 into consideration. Put a wanted thread fora phillipm one fella.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

You can probably cut it about to cover most of the bottom of the engine.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Anyone used the Ultra Racing lower brace?? I know these guys have a good reputation with the Skyline community for bracing products. Just wondering what the fitment was like on 306 if anyone has tried one?.TT |

Just a thought but have you checked the top engine mount? If it has suffered the usual failure then the engine will be sitting a bit lower than it shouldEDIT: seen you have already thought of this ________________________________________ China D Turbo HDi daily chargerBlack Rallye occassional toy |

The omp one will not fit. 100% sure of that. That's why I've had to make them in the past and phillipm still does sometimes.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Yeah, as aaron says, plenty of people have that issue with the OMP ones, that's why I started making ones that fitted to start with.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. I can't make in bulk or I would do. I'm sure if you discuss with phillipm and start a bulk buy thread he'll look at making them. ![]() ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |
