just lost front brakes due to inner rim of wheel (standard cyclone) rubbing on hose.

Clearly shouldn't happen. Calipers are standard, and brake hose (braided) seems to be right length and is threaded through the rubber bush on the strut but can slide in the bush.

I am guessing that the standard rubber hoses may be a tighter fit in the strut bush? Can anyone help with best way to stop the hose moving eg: cable tie just tight enough round flexible each side of the bush?

Someone must have solved this problem before,

Any guidance appreciated,
Cheers, Mike

From what I've seen in the past, people have sliced the bush off, put it around the braided and then fitted to the strut bracket. Has your metal retaining tab snapped off?

Thanks - no, the bush and the tab are still there, but the hose slides freely in the rubber bush thingy.

I cut the bush part slid over braided line then a cable tie on each end.

Just fitted new hose with bush and found flexible still rubbed. Have cable tied against the strut. Checked the other side and found that was also cable tied to the strut.

Seems almost as if there's a part missing - the standard setup only has one bush?
