I've noticed the Nissens item but what about the big, thick shiny alloy ones that I'm used to seeing for Skylines etc???

no need, stock item cools more than well enough, it'd be more than enough for the high boost cars were it not for all the intercoolers in the way.infact, was chatting to a few of the satchel engineering guys at llandow a few weeks ago and their circa 280 bhp n-a 2.0 XU10 and 2.0 XU hybrid 205's are running stock nissens 205 rads. they had been experiencing issues with twin core alloy units, and reverted back to stock rads finding more efficient. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Yes, it is.The standard radiator is manufactured by Ordonez, Nissens make the same thing but keeps the coolant slightly cooler than the Ordonez and also is less likely to corrode. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Nissens is an aftermarket brand. Size wise they are the same as the original. They are aluminum opposed to OE copper________________________________________ |

Nissens is an aftermarket alternative one to a standard, it isn't necessarily uprated but they are very good.It won't corrode and most people reckon they run slightly cooler but that might just be having a new rad. Another advantage of them is that they are significantly lighter than the OEM-supplied radiators. If you are looking for a replacement for your old, crusty rad, a Nissens rad will be fantastic. However, a replacement standard one will do the job just fine. I'm very happy with my Nissens one. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Another vote for Nissens - it went in straight in using factory attachments and runs cooler than my old silted up dead OE one. A couple of kilos off the front end can't be a bad thing either. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

tarmac terror wrote: WOW...Nissens it is then.. What about thermostat's? Is there a cooler alternative? TT The standard thermostat opens at the correct temperature, and this temperature has been selected for a reason. Just get a good quality replacement thermostat (don't know if you can still buy OE but I'm sure someone knows). If you have a thermostat that opens too early you'll just never let the engine get to its optimum operating temperature, which is bad! ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |
