Im going to replace rear beam mounts and engine mounts as the car's not handling too great, just wondering if anyone has used vibratechnics mounts? If so, are they worth getting? Ive read a lot on here about solid mounts but think that would be too much, thinking about oem mounts but saw the vibra's and thought they might be a nice upgrade without being to harsh.Car is a daily with some spirited driving now and then. cheers. |

O/e for top engine and gearbox mount, and vibra for bottom engine mount.Ideal to shim the buffers on top engine mount aswell. As for rear, don't buy cheap!! I have genuine Peugeot here and solids ________________________________________ FRESHLY RE-FURBISHED GTI BEAMSFITTING AND LOWERING AVAILABLE. Is the bottom mount the one that gives the most vibration? |

I have to say, welding chocks in is a good shout. Don't affect the vibration but cuts the movement of the mounts down enough to cut down on the fatigue of the mounts cradle ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Bit off topic but iv got solid mounts all round for the Dimma and im starting to think its just going to cause premature cracking of the top mount structure, can anyone else reassure me that they will be fine as they also have solids all round |

Probably not. I had to weld up and patch loads of cracks in stillys rallye. The usual top mount, but rather unusually also the gearbox side chassis leg. I'll see if I can find pictures. But all of this was definitely caused by too solid mounts.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Could you bolt a chock in? Or use some sealant like tiger seal ir something? Also, What are the vibratechnics fast road mounts like? Anyone had any experience with them? |

If you use a bolt in chock it has to sit under tye mounts bridge. This creates a gap whuch allows vertical movement.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

My solid top mount is held in with a bolt and does not have the standard top nut with a rubber buffer that sits up against the cradle so I was thinking about making a brace that goes across the top mount structure to hold the top of the mont in the middle if that makes sence.I was also thinking about buying a couple of those engine torque dampers to add extra bracing to the engine and chassis |

They aint caged anymore. welded ftw!Reasonable repairs I thought. Wanted it to be over kill really as the rallye got boosted and was getting the solid mounts again and wouldn't get an easy life. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |
