car needs a really good wash/clean having been sat at my mates place. Nearly done for the time being now, at the other end of the car a new clutch, with new drive shafts and seals and bushes is going in. Really wanted a Rich flywheel to go in at this stage, but spending soooooooooooooooo much money at the moment, couldn't really justify another £260. Bloody tax is due now, so another £225, realised the mot is out, so need to get that done, and just to top it off my insurance is up in September!! so the plan is now enjoy it for the next few months before getting it back in to my mates place to finish the rest of the underneath, and get the engine out to do the engine bay etc. Got all new suspension for the front to go on at this point, arms, links, shocks(BILSTEINS),springs, so should be nice when finished. I was going to get it into my mates body shop to have a few bits and pieces done, but i think i should wait really until all the mechanicals have been done.

Does look great, I did mine the opposite way round, need to sort the rear on mine but it's not that bad to be fair.

Will get to it one day.

Thanks Tom, and in answer to your question - I don't know yet. A mate of mine has done it for me, so just waiting to see what he says I owe him to be honest. Parts wise not really sure, but I'm in parts supply so I do get my bits at the right price, biggest single expense was the excellent axle that Andy built for me. There are so many unseen/forgotten costs like paint, primer, paint brushes, waxoyl, clips, new nuts and bolts, brackets, powder coating costs etc. Its probably cost more than I wanted but I'm very happy with the result.

Thanks Andy, yeah its coming on at last. Just put 6 months tax on it and using a bit now, does put a smile on my face - love it. Whilst at my mates place he did fit the new clutch and 2 new drive shafts all with new seals and bushes. I've got a week and a half off from work this month, so its then going into the body shop for some fettling. Offside rear quarter had a bad repair at some stage and paint has blistered, also having the hatch spoiler painted up, its in mint condition (no wear on the edge at all) but it does need a fresh coat of paint. I have a decent replacement bonnet as the current one has quite a few little dents and creases in it, also going to get the few shopping dings sorted and finally having it 'wet sanded back' I think my mate Neil said, should bring the paint up like glass? Shouldn't take to long, he doesn't mess about! That should leave me a few months of tax to enjoy it for a while before it goes back into the garage to start on the engine bay (engine out) and finish the underneath at the front of the car. At this point all the new front suspension will be fitted in. That will just leave me with the interior to tackle in the new year some time.

Hi all, just a quick little update, my mates finally got room at his body shop to get the Rallye in, so she'll be going to Wolverhampton next week for some tlc on the paintwork. Jobs i know of are; dent free replacement bonnet, o/s/r quarter to be painted, rear spoiler to repainted, probably front bumper aswell, remove any dents/dings and finally a wet sand and buff/polish. Really looking forward to the end result, i'll throw pics up when its done.

cheers Thumbs up
