Load of bo***cks, 20 miles isn't too far even in desert heat, certainly less physical effort and risk than stripping and rebuilding your shagged out C2!Not that I would fancy attempting either you understand ________________________________________ Almost standard 1999 Bianca RallyeHilux InvincibleX daily 306 No.13 Carp and specialist Anglers Click here |

Not that I would fancy attempting either you understand apparently you have no idea of what desert heat can do to human body, theres a well known case of 3 teenage girls in US that their car broke down in a desert, 2 of them seeking for help died after only 1 mile walk, the third survived by hiding beneath the car. ________________________________________ French military victories?Did you mean French military defeats? |

Which is more tiring, walking at night or fabricating a motorbike? Not doubting the story...just wondering what detail they might have left out. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

That depends in his ability to navigate at night in an unknown region, if the water supply he needs to carry on his back will be sufficient and taking a chance in finding shelter/shadow at day. there is no asphalt road in the desert, walking on sand is much more energy consuming, 2-3 years ago 700 people died in one hot summer at the UK. ________________________________________ French military victories?Did you mean French military defeats? |

Lets just assume he doesn't know where he is going, how is he any better equipped with a home made bike that he doesn't even know will work??Thats what I'm getting at... However, if he is driving on a recognised road and, as stated in the article, he knows he is 20 miles away from the nearest town (and presumably he knows in what direction) then surely he is better walking? Just saying ^^^^ The above deduced from article and photographs. IF it is true, then it's pretty cool. I just can't see the logic ________________________________________ Almost standard 1999 Bianca RallyeHilux InvincibleX daily 306 No.13 Carp and specialist Anglers Click here |

The desert would have been quite walkable at night. As long as he had a reference to go on (which i assume he did because he rode the bike back) then he would have reached safety within a day. Two if he felt like a nap or some sun bathing.Still... its pretty cool ________________________________________ 2005 Peugeot 206 GTI 1802008 BMW K1200R |
