So i had a brand new valeo clutch fitted by carl chambers 2 years ago along with a rich w flywheel. I did no more than 2500 miles before i low boosted the car and its been fine for 3k since.

Anyways tonight i gave it a bootfull in 2nd and the clutch stunk within a couple of seconds as i changed into 3rd. Pedal feels higher than normal and it stinks to high heaven just pulling away.

I dont get any clutch slip or judder but i can hear what sounds like the rivets grinding when the car is in 1st and i get to bite point or when i change gear.

Any ideas?? I am pretty sure the clutch is fooked though.

Anyone else ruined a fairly new clutch on low boost??

Sounds fooked, could it be the release bearing eating through the pressure plate fingers? Seems to be a common problem.

Or could this be a Valeo out of the alleged 'bad batch' from a couple of years ago? Seem to remember new units failing in standard cars?

Well either way it is putting me off ordering another valeo clutch.
What other ones can I try. I only drive on the road so I don't need a on/off clutch.
