The car is being mapped on friday and I've suddenly realised i haven't even considered what fuel to have it mapped on. Suggestions?
I suspect i will get a little more power from 97/98 but 95 is cheaper and more widely available.

Get it mapped for 2-stroke, it'll rev higher and you'll get significantly far more power per litre. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Get it mapped on what you intend to use going forwards would be my suggestion.________________________________________ |

As (I think) dan says, get it mapped on wherever you'll be mainly filling up, no point mapping on v-power if youve gotta travel 20 miles to fill up! I had mine very conservatively (ignition timing) mapped on 97, when I'm stuck I can fill up with 95 and it still runs nice. ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

I your running boost through a high compression engine not designed for it ten if go with Vpower personally and make sure you've uprated the heat range on the spark plugs to 7's. I know your not aiming for lynx kit figures but still think I you don't it may knock particularly on 95 so if be using nothing but Vpower in it personally. ________________________________________ Black power baby! If he puts v power in it the mapper will no doubt add more ignition advance, If then Niall gets stuck and can only put 95 or 97 in, it may knock. Better to get mapped safely on something that's readily available. Nialls car has the potential to make the same power as a lynx low boost kit. ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

On a supercharged car mapped with 97 you can probably get away with 95 as it's barely boosting low down in the rev range. Obviously high loads are lower rpms are bad but I've filled up with 95 before when 97 wasn't available. |

mine makes 9psi top end under full load (low boost) but his charger is completely different. As the cars had no engine in fr ages it clearly isnt his daily so why does it matter if its mapped on 97 or vpower? never that much distance between shell garages. Ive never put anything below 97 in mine and wouldnt be driving the car somewhere with no juice in i dont think its difficult. 99% of the time its always got vpower occasionally ive had to settle for bp's 97. but as said if you cant be arsed doing that mot of the time and just wanna run it on 95 most kf the time then get it mapped on that. ________________________________________ Black power baby!
