I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but I can't find it:

What sizes of tailpipe did Magnex exhausts come with?
I know of them coming with 3" and 4" which I imagine are both nice-sounding but excessively loud, did they ever come with smaller ones like a 2.5" and if so, does this cut right down on the noise?

Wouldn't mind a nice SS exhaust and don't mind a bit louder than standard but my experiences of big bore backboxes have all been horrific motorway boom so far. I know people like longlife make it to your requirements but I don't have the cash to buy new and quiet exhausts rarely come up for sale.

Thanks.

Edit: Would an S16 cat back SS exhaust (specifically a magnex) mate to a standard gti-6 cat and fit the car etc.?

Yep, pretty much the box design. Yes

Seeing as mine was always only a weekend toy I liked the noise, wouldn't want it as a daily though. No

I have a 2.5" bore magnex with a 3" tail pipe on it. The system was pretty quiet until thw baffles started to fail. Now it booms a little but aint too bad. I think anything smaller than a 3" tailpipe would be too small and look silly though.
Heres a couple of pics of mine with the 3" tail pipe.

A pugsport one in this thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=159296
has a 3" tailpipe, however there seems to be all sorts of versions of pugsport and group n type magnex exhausts kicking around.

Was just wondering if a 2.5" one did exist as this might make the noise levels a little more tolerable whilst still sounding great.

My zero exhsust on yhe shb is 2" and is still pretty loud, I know its irrelevant as im not running standard power, at 4500rpm it was 89db so would be alot quieter on a standard 6

Ok...will it fit without modification?
Are S16 and Gti-6 exhausts the same or similar from the catback? Think I heard something about potentially different routing...
