Just realised car doesn't have a jack. Where should it be stowed please, and does anyone have one + wheelbrace please. Ta, Mikedsp |

I have a jack or 2 somewhere I believe. If I can come across them I will be in touch. Also got a brace for sure as I came across that recently. They should be in the boot next to your lights. ________________________________________ |

The standard braces are w**k. They bend too easily. Get yourself a nice telescopic one.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Yup I've got same sort of telescopic one works much better. Also you do need the original brace to wind the spare down or at least something similar. ________________________________________ Black power baby! To add a bit of detail, it clips in beneath the boot lip between the rear lights. A bit of a PITA to do, but it does go in there. Yes it is not the best quality, but if it is in good nick it will be OK for what it is designed for - changing a wheel by the side of the road a handful of times in the car's life. It most definitely is not designed for doing DIY on the car. My car came without either and I found a new jack and brace on ebay pretty cheap. Again, the wheel brace is not good for repeated use such as DIY stuff, as they aren't designed for it. I wrecked one attempting to undo over-tightened rattle-gunned wheel nuts. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

For wheel nuts get a proper breaker bar and carry it with you... you'll be glad you did if you ever need to change a wheel. They're not expensive at all, I've got a proper, huge ratchet one and it was 20something pounds iirc.I don't think I've ever come across an OEM wrench that was too small for good leverage and generally not ideal. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |
