Is that definitely for a Gti-6? All the ones I've seen have the spring covered.
Also, what brand is it? Magnetti Marelli ones have that branded on the front.
Do you have a reciept for it?

It's not missing anything it's just an aftermarket one not a magneti Marelli one. Most don't come with the bracket for the 6 manifold. Can't say if its for a 6 or not thought poms like one for a TU engine to me?

Looks like a magnetti marelli one to me. As said above the cylindrical sleeve is missing exposing the spring.

The actual moving part can be removed and I reckon it's been unscrewed and then the sleeve has been lost.
