The adjustable top mounts I'm running don't have a flat surface on the bottom which can be seen on the right hand side of this picture:



What's happening at the moment is the spring is only sitting on that which I'm sure isn't safe! I was thinking something like a spring retainer (http://www.spoox.co.uk/en/spring-pans-and-top-retainers/1529-25-top-spring-retainer-14mm.html) might be a better option but Spoox's ones are crazy expensive! Any other options?

Here is a sketch of how to attach coilvers to spherical bearings:



For top hats - try speaking to GAZ Shocks.

Great, thanks Denis! Looks like I just need a top hat as the shaft from the shock fits perfectly in to the bearing.
