After 4 hours and a lot of rubbing I managed to clean up the charger and alloy pipe, could be a lot better but got bored of doing it.... For now anyway, still looks ten times better than when I started |

Whats the deal with bov?? I know the hb/shb need them etc but what about low boost?Surely with the tb being before the charger and snapping shut would leave lots of built up pressure in the charger. Would a bov be a good idea and would it even work on low boost?? I have been thining about it for a while, i quite fancy one just to annoy all the bloody vxr's round here ________________________________________ ***Breaking*** Ph3 Silver GTI 6 High Boost |

The engine is trying to draw in all the air in the inlet/intercooler/pipework post charger, that's why it is under vacuum. With the throttle body on the inlet manifold I.e. super HB, there is positive pressure in intercooler and pipework so needs to leave via dump valve ________________________________________ Team 'unintentional rat look' |

I have been thining about it for a while, i quite fancy one just to annoy all the bloody vxr's round here It's only needed on the super high boost mate as they have a different throttle body location to the low and high boosts. When the throttle body is in front of the charger, the charger can only make boost when the throttle is open, when it shuts, the system goes into a vacuum state. On the super high boost, the throttle body is attached to the end of the inlet manifold and therefore when the throttle shuts, the charger is still spinning AND building boost as the charger is open to atmosphere. That's why the dump valve is needed. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

A dumpvalve wouldn't work on a low boost at all for various reasons. ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |
