These are the highly sought after earlier & in my opinion much better design TB's on a proper length inlet as designed & built by Colin & Sandy, including nice long trumpets incorporating an ITG filter backplate.

These are the simplest way to gain a proper length inlet setup on a 16v XU, without bonnet/major slam panel mods. Includes throttle position sensor & uses standard fuel rail & throttle cable enabling simple fitment. They have barely been used since being put together and sound absolutely amazing!

I'm in Herts on the Essex border between M11 j7&8 or could send via insured courier at cost.

Are these literally just bolt on and go? Does it require mapping once fitted.?

But you can get a map from Wayne Scofield 07874328306, on your stock ecu with them. You can take the car, or send the ecu to him.

Is this the map he made for you on standard cams?

Hi, no they're the earlier, much better ones using an OEM manufacturers bodies. Latterly they used bike bodies which by all means are very much a heath robinson affair that people have many issues with balancing & sealing.

That wholly depends on many factors. The engine they're from made around 230bhp.

They would have to be mapped by someone who can map the standard ECU, i.e. Wayne Schofield @ 500 quid a pop, unless you go down the standalone management route which would be a better choice and allow easier adjustment.

You won't see much power gain without aftermarket cams, but you will get better throttle response, noise and midrange. Provided they are mapped well of course.

You would see a worthwhile gain with these, better than a shorter setup.

Says who you won't get a decent gain on standard cams? I gained 28hp on stock cams with throttle bodies and just a simple £300 Chip Wizards map....

Agree with the above i think you've been mis-informed, probably by someone persuading you to buy their SC setup...? Razz Thumbs down

I've always seen worthwhile gains with bodies alone on many engines, a couple of circa 185bhp standard Mi's, definitely gained on my Longman 8v even over it's previous carb setup & i have a 187bhp rebuilt GTi6 with std cams. Also, for the record which might be of interest to you gman, my current boosted 205 is certainly less fun than any of my bodied NA 8v & 16v cars! Yes

As said, Wayne(Chipwizards) will also map your std ecu for less than your quoted figure, certainly worth considering if on a budget, although of course no doubt a proper Ecu would be more ideal.

Here's a similar set on a 306... Cool
