Hi guy´s, I know this is a forum only for gti6/rallye owners and my 306 isn´t anyone of those but as I am a really enthusiastic of this engines I would like to share my car with you.

Some time ago I read a threat saying that this forum isn´t the same anymore and the projects section was a little bit "dead". I know I´m a newbie and I´m from Portugal but I visit this forum almost everyday since 2011 that was when I bought my 306 and not only think you´re a great family but also saw a really interesting threats with a serious level of knowledge.
This forum showed me first how to install a gti6 manifold in my "small" 1.8 16v engine, then show me how to swap an entire engine/box, and recently, how to supercharge my XU10J4RS and it´s for that reason that I´ll show what I´ve done so far.

To be clear, I only bought my 1.8 16v (xsi here in Portugal) because the gti6 it´s a very rare car and expensive to...The only one for sale at the moment is at 4200£ standard.

So here it comes...

My first engine!

Several photos when I was ready to fit the gti6 engine

Powerflow Cat back and the final result

Supercharged

I´ll have to buy some new bits soon like 21mm torsion bars, hybrid ARB, roller bearing wishbone bushes, lower strut brace, gaz coilies, etc, but what I really need at the moment is some brakes as I still have the standard ones fitted Unsure btw, if someone have a set of 4 pot brembos for sale drop me a pm Thumbs up

Hope you like it,and sorry for some bad English..

Cheers Thumbs up

Looks good! Did you source all the parts in the UK or some from Portugal?

Nice to see some people down in Portugal are still capable of enjoying an cherish their cars despite all the bulls**t and s**t news about the economy at the moment.
Hats off to you my friend. So will you be having some fun with the 306 on the Vasco da Gama bridge or have the races stopped there? I remember seeing a documentary about the races held there on the News. LOL

Keep up the good work and cheers... i need to start sorting my 6 out by the way Razz

And you´re right, our economic situation is very bad at the moment, but this project is a result of 3 years working and living for the 306...

Hi Pete, thanks mate! Yes, I´ve done the 65 miles that is written in the rotrex maintenance manual that says the engine shouldn't´t pull hard when you change the traction fluid Thumbs down and it was the worst part! At the moment have the standard catalytic but tomorrow I´ll install a spare de-cat and then she´s fine to eat some asphalt Yes

Hi guys, this Christmas I received a good gift from Santa Roll eyes

V6 Brembo, braided lines, 288mm Xantia discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads. I didn´t fitted it yet but I know the next step is getting some tarox discs to avoid the epic squealing noise..

Cheers

But the engine is currently out to put a new head gasket, pulleys, belt, etc...

"New" decat Big grin

And some bits for my car and my mate´s

Many thanks to RichW for supplying me the MLS, the head bolts and pulleys Thumbs up

Here is the difference between the Genuine Peugeot Gasket ( 1.8 16v right ) and the RichW´s one ( Gti-6 left)

I´m only waiting for a new oil cooler to put the engine back into the car, I´ll update this soon

From changing a manifold then onto engine change and fitting a supercharged conversion!
Excellent work, looks like you've learnt s**tloads and gained loads of mechanical confidence working on it!
Awesome work

Thanks Aaron Thumbs up In the end of the month I´ll install the new parts and put the engine back in the car. I´m looking for some rear tarmac bilsteins and front suspension too what do you think will suit only with 21mm torsion bars?

A little update on this as I have good and "not so good" news, starting with the good ones today arrived the coilovers from Jammapic Big grin

the other news...

I went to fit the brembos in my OZ Racing WRC 15" and it don´t fit by 5mm (more or less) so I´ll have to look for some spacers

I have too much work and university exams this month and as much as I want to build it again quickly there´s always something missing..

I have some questions too, for low boost NGK Iridium and Castrol GTX 10W40 will be any good?

Study first car later Thumbs up

Which NGK plugs are you going to use? The iridium ones are fine but they need to be the correct heat range Yes

Oil wise there are a few threads on here with options, for a low boost standard engine a decent 10W40 will be fine, there are other options though Smile

Yes I know but the car is without engine for about 3 months and I really want it on the road asap Unsure

What heat range do you advise?

Yes I know Royal Purple will be probably the most indicated for the SC setup but as you said there are a few threads about some different oil to use... I guess it will be fine then Smile

Thanks for the help Thumbs up Yes, after reading those threads I think the NGK BKR8EIX will be the most indicated spark plugs to use in a low boost right?

I´ll try to find some spacers here first Aaron Smile probably around 10mm Unsure

Hi guys, I know there´s a long time since I made the last update in this project and the car isn´t the same but now that I finally had some more time and money to spend I would like to ask if anyone here can help me so I can end up this "beast" soon..

So, the car currently have a forged engine to go high boost:
- Does anybody know whats the number of the "blue" wire behind the fuse box (LP pump) that I need to connect to the high pressure pump?
- 10W50 insted of 10W40 for high boost use?
- will it be plausible to use the same ngk iridium spark plugs as used in low boost?

Thanks!

I´ll get some photos soon Thumbs up

Hi there,

A thing that started with a manifold change ended up with a very challenging project to me. Right now I´m trying to start up my high boost engine and, as alaways, I need your much appreciated help..First I´ll show you a bit of the engine internals as I think its a very interesting part to see Big grin ( I really like to see it in other projects) and also for you to know better my project! I´ll make a photo update as soon as I get the car running..

Low Comp. Forged Engine with a dual plate Helix clutch and a very very light flywheel

Now the thing is... Today I´ve tried to start the engine but the starter motor did not turn, it only makes a small click and turns off. I think it may be something about the battery to the boot conversion as the negative cable that goes direct to the gearbox in the standard engine is gone and now there´s only one cable connected to the chassis.. Can you see something wrong in the pictures? will I need a negative cable direct from the battery to the gearbox also?

Note1 - Already have the gearbox to chassis small negative cable connected

Note2 - I now I dont have a dry battery but while I don´t get one, this one will be in a closed box with a conduct to the outside

I now I still have some changes to do and any comment will be welcome Thumbs up

Many thanks!
Pedro
