Mate hit a fence post in his 206 at the weekend.

We've had to replace the rad, AC rad and fans.

I put it all back together last night, but haven't yet put any coolant in.

Is it just a case of filling it up and setting off or do I have to bleed the cooling system.

Any pointers would be appreciated as I've never changed coolant myself before.

unless you've just topped it up you'll be needing to bleed it

it's just a case of either flushing it through (i wouldn't bother) or just refilling it and bleeding from the bleed points

OK, so I'll fill it then bleed it.

Does anyone know where the bleed points are? Is it just a case of open them all, fill the system until water comes out of them then shut them one by one?

i imagine matrix pipes, thermostat housing, radiator - similar to 306 (back of engine, middle, front)

edit> is it the same dw10 engine used in the 306 hdi?

Think its the same engine as my HDI yeah.

The expansion tank is located at the back of the engine bay though so I assumed the cooling system is slightly different.

Think I've got the jist of it though. Thumbs up

What rikky says is true. Same bleed points as a gti6, start at the Heater Matrix, then work back to front of the car.

Same as my xsara HDi also Smile

Thanks.

From what I've found online there are four bleed screws, all on the heater matrix inlet pipe.

I didn't see any bleed screws on the radiator either when I put it in.

Don't think I'll need to make a header tank either, as the expansion tank is higher than all of the pipes at the back of the bay.
