Just a quick one, went out to start the 6 today and it want start, tries to turn over but just nothing, I last used it week ago to go up north and ran fine no problem, so bit strange?! I thought maybe battery just hasn't got anough power in it so I've put it on charge , has it has been cold, I can hear the fuel pump priming, fuel getting to injectors, so if not battery what could of stopped it from starting? |

Well, you only need fuel, air and a spark to make it run.Does it turn over at normal speed? If so, this would indicate the battery voltage is fine. If that's the case then it could possibly be a crank sensor fault or immobiliser issue. Once you get it turning over properly, test for a spark then report back. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Fully charged battery, seemed to turn quicker, but on 2nd attempt it fired into life, took for spin, turned it off started again just as normal, are we saying battery on way out? |

I would say either the battery is dieing or you have a weak/weak alternator. There may be the posibility off a s**tty earth but thats unlikely.________________________________________ 208 GTI OwnerTurbo'd '6 project - work in progress |

If it has been allowed to go dead a few times it is very likely to be on the way out and not sufficiently powerful enough to start the car from cold.________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

I have the same problem with mine as i hardly use it. I bought a diesel battery which is bigger and has a higher cranking output at lower temps or some bulls**t. Seems better with the bigger battery but still not great when left to long. ________________________________________ ***Breaking*** Ph3 Silver GTI 6 High Boost |

I have a Bosch in my 205 which I start probably monthly during the winter, always has plenty of life and never gets a proper run to charge it either.________________________________________ '90 1.6 205 GTi, '98 306 GTi-6 |
