Hi guys n Girls

I currently run a 310mm two piece disc with Tarox B32 6 Pots.

Now my question is Can I use 607 3.0 V6 24V (00-02) Discs that are the same PCD 4x108and Bore 65.1 which are 309mm, thickness 32mm ?Dunno

I ask this as new rotors etc are very expensive and these seem very competitively priced.

Or can I get the Brembo 330mm ones, and would I be able to safely more than anything get them machined down to 310mm ?Dunno

Sorry for all the questions

Steve

I'd stick with the 310 rotors dude !

Cheap 1 piece discs will be exactly that CHEAP !

No you can't machine down 330 rotors not sure why you would want to do that ?

Awwww good point on the offset of the disc, I didn't think of that.

Yes the bells are slightly domed

Just seen you can get Brembo 330mm rotors as thought they wouldn't be cheap/nasty but not as expensive as replacement Tarox jobs at over £450 for the pair but that did include new bolts and P&P.

I only say about turning them down as have a friend in a machine shop who has the capability to do so.

I take it its not safe as it my damage the integrity of the disc and/or the vanes? Dunno

Think I may have to bite the bullet and get somebody like Hi Spec to see what they can do for me. They seem to be competitively priced at around £100 per rotor.

I think id have to send them my current disc/bell so they can physically see them and see if they have off the shelf rotors to fit my bells and go from there, which I think is the best course of action, unless anyone has a better solution?

Yes you can

If the offsets correct and you have enough area left for the pad it will be a nice cheap option. Brembo disc are normally pretty decent quality too.

Try compbrake ? 450 seems a bit steep but new bolts is a must Yes

Just had a look at Hi Spec and they seem to be on the ball starting with plain rotors at £69 going up to £99 for grooved + VAT

Just got to work out now if my PCD of the bells is either 180 or 190 and what I pad sweep area is either 52 or53mm but does that make much difference? , but I do know I have 10 fixing bolts and need 2 X M12x1.25 per calliper.

10 x bolts to fix the rotors to the bell and 2 x M12 bolts to remount the calliper per side.

Sorry I don't think I was to clear there.

Didn't know that, I thought it was just a matter of course to replace them regardless. But I do fully understand the two per side calliper mounting M12 bolts will need replacing as taking the calliper off to properly clean

As the op says he knows a turner and it'd take him literally 5minutes to turn down a pair of discs, potentially saving himself a heap of money?
I take it you mean breaks? Why would one break? A standard disc/rotor is already a turned down casting.

So if the brake disc fails and there is a big accident and people die who do you think will get the blame ?
