Iv fitted some new shocks and realised iv missed out the washers that fit into the rebound mount and on top of piston shoulder at bottom of its threads, threads out of top mount looks to have more of them popping out than it used to have but tightened up fine.

Will it really make any difference not having the piston washer fitted and would it make the car any lower due to it being missing, top mount cup that rests on shoulder of the top of shock piston went on fine and looking through manual diagram this washer looks missing ??

Or will it just wear the rebound mounts out quicker ?

Cheers

The washers on the damper rod you mean, that go under the strut top mount?

Yes they fit into rebound mount and rest on shoulder at bottom of the threads.

Yes, they're there to spread the damper load into the top mount.

Both old ones came from a phase 1 vts broken up. One ie newer one was leaking so bought a new set and kept springs. So missing washer must have not been put on the newer one of which was the first one used to fit on 205, ie spring from old one.

Doesn't matter anyways I still have to pop strut out and fit washer.

Tomaatoe tomaahtoe whatever LOL
