After a couple of years of van's, vw's and a Renault I am now back with another gti-6.
I bought it off Ebay and it's had a hard life, so i have decided to start rebuilding it.

after getting it home to assess the (huge) list of things to be repaired or replaced, we dicided to start be getting it sitting properly,
it had previosly been lowered 60mm on Gmax suspension so a trip Andrew Pages and GSF was in order.

off with the old.

on with the new

next up an axle swap

i did look at rebuilding the old axle but.........

after driving the car outside we diceded the front springs were wrong and the axle appears to sit too high
so it looks like another night in the workshop is needed.

i wil add some more pics of the car when i next get to the workshop.
thank you for reading.

Can't quite make out the reg, but looks like its W339 UVC.

If so it's my best mates old 6, was bloody low when he bought it so could well be the same car.

sorry for the lack of updates, the car is going for paint soon (fingers crossed)
the new rad should be with me tomorrow,
and hopefully Directline will finally send out my policy so I can tax the thing.

it is indeed, it was sat on the bump stops when I bought it from Chris, that's why the suspension was changed (i'm get too old for really low cars)

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time

Yep, he had it when I had my blaze one then I remember the car well.

It was a bit ropey when he bought it. It was cheap and low mileage back then (2008) but didn't have any history, had been keyed on the bonnet and was a tapper with no proof of a belt change.

Having said all that we serviced it twice during the year he had it and bar a gearbox speedo sensor it didn't cause him any bother. He sold it on French plates and white cyclones. Might have some pics at home of it with my blaze one, so if I find them I'll post them up.

Nice to see its in good hands!
