Got a slight issue with one of my RS Brembos in that the bleed screw never seems to want to tighten properly. When bleeding you can tighten so that the fluid stops coming out however it doesn't want to hit a stop like it should.

Any ideas on what the problem could be? I've run it on track for a full day with only a tiny bit of seepage from it but it's something I want to fix as clearly losing my brakes during a race could be a small problem! Dunno

The nipple looks ok?

If so must be the bottom of the hole it seats in is corroded or cracked/damagedThumbs down

Currently hunting for my spare spanner set to inspect the nipple as I didn't take it out while I was at the garage. If the nipple looks ok I'm going to call up Godspeed brakes and see if they have any idea or can repair it in any way.

Some brakes have replaceable seats however i dont think brembos do. If the seat is damaged, at a last ditch attempt you can try and use an old nipple and some grinding paste to cut the seat back in then get a slightly longer nipple. Exactly the same happened to me with my Hispecs and this worked for me.

If this doesnt work and you cant have a new seat put in the calliper, its a new calliper half Sad

Cheers Niall, hopefully it is just an damaged bleed nipple. Too many other things to spend money on at the moment! Sad

Nipple doesn't look too bad but the thread on the inside of the caliper doesn't look in the greatest condition. Going to ring someone up tomorrow and see what they think.

More than likely the seat within the caliper. Sad

I had this happen on a rear caliper and had to get a new caliper to solve the problem.

That's a pain. The Renaultsport calipers came from the Megane 225 and Clio 197, I think? Will see if it's possible just I pick up the one caliper from someone breaking either of the cars.

Spoke to Godspeed Brakes who said they will take them, drill out the thread and put a helicoil in place so think I'll give that a go. Much cheaper than a new caliper!

Hope that fixes it. Are you getting them done in red while there at Godspeed?
