I guess this thread is mainly addressed to Niall...

When fitting the rx8 seats, what is the best way of ensuring the airbag light stays off? I understand that the Peugeot pretensioners need to be swapped over and wired in that way.

What about the airbags? Can these be wired in (I would have thought this would be pretty hard), or do you put a resistor across it to fool the ECU?

Cheers

I assume he asking which kind of resistor he needs? 1.8ohm?

Connecting two wires is happily quite an easy process, even for me. However, I assumed that a Mazda airbag and a Peugeot ECU would probably not communicate - hence my question.

If it is as simple as just connecting the wires up, then happy days. If that was not possible and a resistor is required to fool the ECU, the I was asking if anyone had any experience of what to use.

So thanks eliotrw for trying to help out.

Mate, don't worry about Welshpug, he does that "I could help you but instead choose to take the pi$$ out of an aspect of your post" routine quite often. It is not personal, he does it to lots of people.

Right i looked into wiring up the Mazda airbags. They require the same monitoring resistance and same firing resistance as the peugeot ones so in theory, you could hook the wires up and your good to go. I however haven't manned up and done it yet because im not sure how reliable my source of info was and i dont want to start the car and blow both airbags! Im just using a 1.8 fused resistor across the plugs at the moment.

Pretensioner, just bolt on (will have to buy spacers and longer bolts) and plug in. Simple.

Yeah the full leathers are nice and the electrics are really easy to wire up. Unlike most electric seats, all the controls are in the seat so it literally just needs a live and earth and then a switched live for the heated bit. if you can afford them, 05 onwards ones are made by Recaro. Look similar but hold you a lot better and are much comfier
