After an gti6 alloy crank pulley, new or in very good condition. My one is 2 years old, covered about 2000 miles and worn on the keyway causing play and it's making a horrible chattering/knocking noise.

Bolt was done up properly and somehow the keyway In the alloy has worn, could just move it by hand when it was all done up, removed the bolt and had afew mm play each way and once the pulley was removed could see where the keyway has visibly worn out and where it has been moving on the crank.

Hence I need a new one!

Nothing Pees me off more than 'tuners' selling parts made by other companies under their own brand when they didnt even do any of the R&D or even come up with the idea of it in the first place.
Obviously all of them dont make their own bits, but theres a difference between getting someone to make something for you based upon your specification and buys something of someone who already sells it anyway and re branding it to fit your 'cool tuner/parts company' image.

Examples
Pug1off
Spoox

/end rant

Correct, stew205 on drivers (bbm) makes them for Pug1off. He also has done a deal with pug1off that he won't sell direct so what else can you do?!

Was £60 plus vat which ain't to bad anyhow. Plus If its as the picture is theres a proper flat section where the bolt tightens up against which will be much nicer for my dry sump pulley to locate against. The Rich W one I had before doesn't really have this.

This thread made me chuckle, the vast majority of stuff you see in the shops today is all just off the shelf, someone has looked through a catalogue, picked what they want and had their own logo put on it (I'm not necessarily talking about cars here)

As Rikky said, if you are happy with the product and the price, who cares? The bloke who's done the initial research has gone into it with his eyes open and is happy to sell it on in the knowledge that it will be re branded so whats the problem? Everyones making money and you are getting a good product.

R+D costs a lot of money, how else do you think we get stuff cheap?? With manufacturing labour costs going through the roof the world-wide, expect to see more of it too Yes
