Well it’s time to sell my lovely Astor Grey GTI6… (reputed to be one of only 60 GTI6’s made in this colour) She’s a well known car to the club having previously been comprehensively re-built by Matt Evans. (see below rebuild link)
I purchased this vehicle in January 2013 from Carl aka Mechanical Repairs. I did a deal with my old white 205 GTI that I was using as a daily drive and had become tired of. I am now selling as I’ve bought a mint classic shape Impreza RB5 last weekend….. something I’ve always wanted to own and couldn’t refuse at the price I was offered.
In the time I’ve owner this car I’ve only covered 6k miles but she has been totally reliable. Im a big Peugeot enthusiast and know how to care for these cars. This is the 2nd GTI6 I’ve owned, Ive owned a Black Rallye previously and still have a mint white Rallye I in the garage. Ive also had 3 x 205 GTI’s along with 405 Mi16’s and Bx 16v’s so have been around these French things a while now Lol. This is not some tired old 306 that has been maintained on a shoestring budget needing a heap of work doing to it… she has been cared for by myself and previous owners and is ready to go.
Matt Evans bought the vehicle at around 100,000 in early 2010 and in his ownership the vehicle received a complete suspension rebuilt to include:
New Yellow Bilstein shocks/ Eibach springs (B12 kit) – awesome kit.
New top mount bearings/ bottom arms/ track rod ends/ anti roll bar drop links/ powder coated sub frame.
Rebuilt & powder coated rear axle tube & bearings, yellow Bilstein shocks. New beam mounts.
New brake lines.
New standard exhaust from cat back.
Rebuilt head & new head gasket using genuine Peugeot gaskets, new bottom end bearings (changed as preventative measure – not due to wear), red crackle finish cam covers, alloy lower crank pulley. Rallye AIRCON delete set up. Professionally cleaned injectors.
Having re-built the car only to have covered a couple of thousand miles….Matt then part-ex’d the car with Carl Mechanical Repairs whom I purchased it from. Carl fitted newly red powder coated front and rear calipers with all new seals. Also new front and rear disks and pads. Carl also fitted the powder coated wheels/ tyres.
I purchased the car on 104,500 miles (she was rebuilt at 103,000) and she is now reading 110,848. In this time I’ve given her two oil changes using Mobil 1 10w-40 and genuine Peugeot Oil filters. She has just had a fresh oil change yesterday so is good for the next 6,000 miles for the new owner.
Exterior. Finished in gorgeous Astor grey the paintwork is lovely with a deep glossy shine. No sign of accident damage. Matt had the front bumper/ wings and bonnet repainted due to stone chipping and so all are in excellent condition. I recently had the boot/ passenger door painted due to slight lacquer peeling (a common Peugeot issue) There are virtually no dents/ scratches to speak of… she is very very clean. She benefits from genuine Peugeot GTI front mud flaps and ph3 GTI6 badges on doors. Fitted with black masks.
Wheels: The car benefits from original freshly powder coated Speedline Cyclone’s in silver with original spec Pirelli P6000 all round with 5+mm of tread left on all tyres. McGuard locking wheel nuts. No kerb marks/ corrosion to any wheel.
Interior. The interior is completely standard and very clean. Seats are excellent with only very slight wear to the Alcantara, commensurate with mileage. None of the seats have any tears or holes…. a rarity these days. I have used seat covers throughout my ownership. On purchasing the vehicle I sourced a mint original leather steering wheel from a club member that I paid good money for, during Matt’s ownership the gear knob was replaced for a new genuine leather ph 3 item and so is mint. The car benefits from it’s original Clarion Tape head unit with 6 CD changer in the boot in full working order. It also has the genuine ‘306 GTI6’ carpet mats & boot mat that are as new. Car comes with RF Plip fob in full working order and spare key.
The car drives nice and tight as it should. All the common 306 faults have been seen to and so this 306 should be trouble free motoring for the next owner.
Im asking £2,150 ovno for her. Yes there are cheaper examples out there… but most need beam rebuilds/ head rebuilds/ clutches/ wheel refurbs etc… this car wants for nothing.
Any interested parties must bring proof of insurance prior to any test drive as I’ve now removed my insurance onto the Impreza.
I have loads of photo’s I can e-mail to interested parties.
Any questions feel free to get in touch via the club or on my mobile 07917344475.
The car is advertised elsewhere… so book test drive early to avoid disappointment!
Lastly, car is located on Anglesey, North Wales.
Thanks for looking
