As in your other thread - that's a lift up reverse cable which you won't need if you've a 5 speed box fitted. Speedo cable wise just buy a 205 one and ensure it's kept away from the exhaust manifold. I did this by tucking it behind the downpipe heatshield and then looped a cable tie around an earth stud on the gearbox to pull the cable away. ________________________________________ |

Been working fine for me over the last couple of years. Replaced my gearbox recently and attached it the same way again with no hassle what so ever. Was a nice result considering the attachment to the back of the clocks is broken so any excess movement would pull it off.________________________________________ |

Does anyone have a photo of where this should be in the gearbox please (std 205gti)there is a speedo cable connected to the back of the clocks... I can not trace or see quite where it exits from the bulkhead, unless its down low somewhere. The GTI6 engine fills the bay :-/ Thanks! Jon |

Nowhere if you dont have a gti6 gearbox.Get us a mountain of photos if what your left with and what's a concern and we can help you. Something is to cock somewhere. A speedo cable will go from the speedo unit housing by the diff. You can't miss it if you look down the back of the bay or underneath and follow the shafts. You cannot miss the speedo cable coming from the bulkhead IMO if it is there. You'll either have a hole because someone has not put a cable in the car or an obvious cable. ________________________________________ |

This thread is a perfect example of why you should ask questions about 205s on a 205 forum! ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |
