Here goes again, after a bit of a clean up and a sort out i have a new ad. gti6 head which has piper 285 cams fitted can just see in one of the photos. Has also been ported and polished to a high standard, i believed this head may have originally done by longmans but i have been informed it may have been done by brett sims who used to work for longmans as he put a four digit number on the heads, this one has 8505 as in pic. I cant tell if it has been skimmed/faced although head is flat so may have been done in the past. I haven't used this head as have had a change of plan so its just as i brought it. I did advertise this head recently and there was a few comments that it was sat on the valves in pics, this was not the case and was people just assuming (wrongly). Serious enquiries only please, and please don't fill this post up with useless spam/comments. £450

Interested in splitting? Would like the head but not fussed about cams, buckets, valves or springs.

why did it need 2 new inlet valves and a clean up in chamber 2? Any confirmation of this being a simms head yet?

I can confirm 99% that this is a Longmans head. The porting is identical to the ones I have had, and the 4 digit number is located in exactly the same place as Longmans used to put theirs. Whether Brett Sims did the porting for Longmans or not I'm not sure...

If anyone is interested in just the cams, buckets and springs let me know as I'd buy this if I have a buyer for the bits I don't want...

Thanks Pete for confirming the head as a longmans. This would make a reasonably priced head if you wanted to pass cams on. I think it's priced quite well for what's been done

Is this head/cams a direct bolt on or is other internal work required for the bottom end? Thanks

Likely to need pocketed pistons unfortunately. I ran 285h's a while back and ended up with a rod through the block due to their not been enough valve>piston clearance. That head looks like it has been quite heavily skimmed also so clearance will be even more of an issue. You can have the standard pistons pocketed, or buy aftermarket pistons.
