He did say that he had seen worse heads that turned out to be fine. I hope i'm one of the lucky ones!
TBH it only has to last a few months, i want to build something from scratch over the winter, i have 8 engines in total, 2 of which have never been opened up shame they are tappers/big ender's though

hmm, your all starting to make me paranoid now. Iv'e done a fair few heads on these now but never one this bad. How likely am i to see valve to piston contact with 0.80 less material?

ok so today i got round to finish off refitting my head, engine started up as normal only to instantly discover water/oil coming out of the throttle body. A bit disappointed as i paid to have the head pressure tested before they skimmed it, must be badly cracked i think.

find out where its coming from before condemning it, cracked heads on these are not very common and "should" have been spotted in a pressure test.

can only be a cracked head, fitted new gasket, bolts, all torqued down correctly using proper torque wrench and angle gauge. It literally starting mixing straight away, now entire engine is full of mayo, i don't really have the time to strip it back down so would rather just fit a replacement engine.
