Where's the cheapest place to buy a GoPro or ah deals on for then at the moment? I'm after a HD Hero white edition but has anyone bought one and thought they needed a silver or black edition?

My vids might get used for television and will no doubt be on yootoob but the white is still HD so can't be bad quality?

I've used groupon before but them prices are the same as they sell on eBay for and the HD hero white is only £165 then I need a roll cage mount and SD card and probably a spare battery

Thing is I don't want to spend a fortune as ill upgrade to a video datalogging system next year unless the black edition is much better then I can just do data overlays.

Dave,
The BRSCC Mazda mx-5 championship ill be racing in is on Motors TV so if I submit my video to the production company they will put some clips on providing they are entertaining (if I crash, see someone else crashing or get crashed into lol)

I'd love to compete in that series like, sounds great. Didn't know you had an MX-5?

GoPro Hero2 Motorsport will be sufficient

Mine is getting built as we Speak dave, first race at Anglesey 3/4 August. Cameras are mandatory for disputes.

I'll have a search for a hero 2 Motorsport now and see what the prices are like.

You should get a GP2 MS for around £200 with a spare battery or something 'extra'

Probably less now on ebay as the GP3 is well and truly out now

How much do you think it will cost to get the car to racing spec?

I know that other than suspension, the regs are pretty much 'standard' cars?

A minimum is to get started is:

Control Roll Cage (Safety Devices)
Control suspension (4 x GAZ coil overdampers)
Control Wheels (4 x Rota 15" Slipstream)
Control tyres (4 x Hankook k110 ventus evo)
Control Air Induction Pipe
Brake Hoses (4 x Braided Brake Hoses)
Set of standard brake discs and race pads (yellow stuff is best for these cars)
Fire Extinguisher (1 x 2 jet system kit including pull cables)
Exhaust (1 x full system from standard 1.6 manifold)
Seat (driver preference) doesn't need to be in date but must be FIA approved
Harness (5 or 6 point)
FIA Kill switch Ignition/Start panel
Bad weather light
Camera

Then some extras if wanted: poly bush, steering wheel, lap timer, data logger and a cool paint job.

Then whatever base car and a nice fresh engine to be up the front of the grid, Engine wise a maximum head skim and 3 angle valve seats which is where teams spend a lot of time trying to squeeze an extra horse power out of it. Can run standard engine with 115 bhp but be at the back of the grid, after tweeks and a decent exhaust they are 135bhp

Price wise........ Try and add it up if you can. It works out quite a lot.

Have you considered the liquid image E-Go? About half the price, smaller useabe via an app on your smartphone and if you check Youtube for gopro vs ego videos you'll see that there is no apparent diference on 1080p.

For that price i'd go for the e-go Cool

    Dan,

They don't have serial numbers on them so no manufacture warranty.
Some of the Ebay sellers offer a one year warranty on them though.

    Potentially pinched then?

I'm a man of the cloth so I couldn't possibly get involved with that.
