The time has finally come for me to part ways with the car that gave me much more than a ride to work every day.

Bought on October the 22nd 2002 for £6700 at 62,000 miles I can say I'll probably never own a car for as long ever again.

It would be really nice to go to a club member who will give it a jolly good home so I am advertising it solely on here first.

Since buying the car I failed to ever trust Peugeot fully to service my car so I have always done so myself.

The only work I reluctantly had done by Peugeot was the cambelt, water pump and tensioner back in 2004. The car had then done 77,200 miles.

Since then the cambelt has been replaced only once in 2009 at around 100,000 miles so it is now due a change for age rather than mileage.

It has a standard exhaust system and cat which passed the mot recently with no emissions problems but I had the lambda sensor replaced due to a lumpy idle. This cured the problem at the cost of £95 - pricey sensor!

The front brake discs and pads were replaced last year and the rears were replaced only 2 months ago for the mot.

It only ever runs on Shell V-Power which was Optimax back in the day!

I have completed a series of repair jobs over the years that can be classed as "horrible jobs" by some...

Heater matrix replacement.
Power steering hydraulic ram replacement.
Broken engine top mount (strengthened) - Here is the clicky link to the exact repair!
Radiator replaced with Nissens alloy and updated bottom hose.

Extra items included in sale:-

I have the original Clarion radio/cassette head unit and 6 disc cd changer.
I also have the original phase 2 headlights.
A scorpion stainless exhaust system (as I matured the backbox was a little noisy for long runs on the motorway but it did sound lovely on back roads).

The paintwork has the usual stone chips for a car of this age. There are a couple of marks on the bumpers and a mark on the offside front wing which I will take photos of.

Apart from that the outside is in above average condition with no peeling laquer or anything nasty like that.

The interior is also in great condition with only the usual small tear on the drivers bolster. Again I will take photos to show the condition and add them later. It has fully working electric sunroof.

I had 4 new Michelin PE2 Exalto Pilot fitted around 3000 miles ago so they still have plenty of tread depth.

The cyclone alloys have a few small marks and scrapes but nothing that stands out. They are in very good condition for their age.

The car is actually a phase 2 but with the phase 3 lights, fog lights, rear windscreen wiper etc it still looks lovely.
The genuine Cibié Valeo black masks are pretty rare and could be sold for £100 alone I believe.

The private number plate is currently being put on retention so it will be back on its original plates shortly. This means I cannot sell the car for roughly 2 weeks when I get the log book back from the DVLA. Viewings are welcome and a deposit will secure purchase.

The reason for finally selling after nearly 11 years is simply because I need a long distance cruiser that does 60mpg however I am not looking for any P/X. May take offers near the asking price to cover cambelt replacement cost.

Cheers guys Smile

Oh and to add since I replaced the lambda it's running so sweet. Damn it pulls a lot better than I remember recently!

Seeing the thing up in the new forest at sunset like that made me wonder if I really have to sell it! LOL

Had a lot of great great memories.

With regards to the interior as you can see it's pretty mint.

No smokers, no food, NO DOGS and no messy girlfriends (from what I can remember Whistle)

Today I put the Scorpion Imola 3.5 stainless steel system back on the car.

The standard system had deteriorated a bit and was really letting the rest of the car down.

I was gobsmacked how much lighter it is - totally forgot how heavy the standard system is to be fair.

Sounds no louder but more crisp and throttle pickup has improved.

See the first set of pictures at the top for how it looks now.

Thanks for the positive comments btw. I know it's worth what I'm asking so shan't be dropping it's price any time soon Smile

Hmm really tempted to come back to the fold as I'm currently breaking my Integra Turbo and need a good solid example.

Do you still estimate it would be another week before it's available to drive away as I would need to take a train down (quite a way) after we spoke on the phone regarding a few things like rear beam condition, cold start noises, etc.

Cheers
Ry

The V5 will almost certainly be another week.

There are zero obscure noises from the engine whether stone cold or operating temperature and the rear beam shows no signs of wear.

It's a lovely example of what will surely become a classic in a few years.

All questions are welcome - PM, text or call Smile
