Author Subject: plastic air intake pipe, better replacement advice needed

on the two gtis ive owned and the one xsi.

they have a pipe that comes off the main throttle body. this has a secondary pipe off to the hermholts box.

every single car ive had has had the smaller pipe snap or pull itself out of the larger pipe. i can "fix" and by that i mean silicone it back in.

it works but, is there an aftermarket replacment for this section of tubing that isnt a shoddy peice of crap that will break?

Yep a breather filter for the stepper
And a closed induction kit for the throttle-body Ninja

no it doesnt.

just get a better condition pipe and dont break it when you take the hose off.

For ease Jimmy, as suggested remove the small hose and fit that from the stepper with a small breather and then run a K&N or similar off an elbow.

    ive been looking on the "ebay" i might end up buying a cheap induction kit thats meant for another car.

    a fair few come with the piece of pipe im looking for (well it will be after some chopping)
