Has anyone ran 3 silencer boxes to meet noise restrictions for track? I've got a tester from maplins to which my current exhaust reads from 102-106db at 3/4 revs but obviously with it being a track car I want to get it lower. I currently have a 4-2-1 manifold which is 2.5" as it joins the system so have the rest of the system also at 2.5 diameter with 2 silencers in. Would a 3rd silencer upset things? |

I think spiky has added a bigger transverse box, but really at your power level a 2 box system should not have any issues at all keeping it down. What system is it? Possibly past its best if its used. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

It's a few month old.... Powerflow system which is prob half of it but I needed a custom system as its one of miles race manifolds on there so comes back a long way so has to be custom. Hopefully they can put larger boxes in or a different box etc as going back there next week as its not quiet enough but just weighing up the options if they say that's the quietest boxes they do. From memory they are strait through perforated silencers so shouldn't be very restrictive I'm just pre empting the fact they may say that I already have there quietest boxes so thinking if so a 3rd box may be the best option but I'm thinking they should just need to change to a different box. |

They are very loud on part throttle and upto 4000rpm,then they go quieter So could be ok for a track car that's at WOT and high revs a lot passing noise meters I suppose ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

Similar to what I have now by sounds of it.. Flat out Its more manageable than lower down but at 3/4 revs on a static test is prob where its loudest I done a flat out drive by test and was alot lower but looking at booking a track day at mallory which is a 98db limit so I've no chance currently.. |

i remember fitting that system to his china, couldn't believe how quiet it was. tell me more about your cat? i recently swapped my magnex for a powerflow, nice subtle tone but pipework is only 50mm, engine is alot more torquey under 4000 revs but higher up the magnex allowed it to pull harder. i would go for a 'flame but wasnt too keen on the tail pipe |

I "think" my exhaust is spot on now, Sounds similar in many ways to what Coskev is saying about a torque techniques system, but the sounds after 4k is just pure race car.Seriously sounds epic and makes driving the car "an occasion" now, sounds ridiculous but it really does. Bit of drone before then, hense why I say it sounds similar to what 'Kev is saying, Same tailpipe too. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Malory was 98 on the site I was booking on but either way I want to aim low as dnt want to pay £150+ for a day just to get flagged for noise, + the sound of the bodies is enough noise for me |

On my own 306 so complete manifold and system, measured as per the blue book rules. Going from my Dads old std 306 with a cat back stainless one at 90 odd db's from memory you can see how loud they can be no matter how large the box's are________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |
