Is this Pugplus? Not seen anything from him in quite a while. He had a car like this and the wording sounds like him...

Bloody nice car that! I'd love a V6 in a 306 they must absolutely fly Superman

Would i be right in assuming this is a cheaper conversion than the SC one? And due to the amount of torque I'd say not much difference in performance either Dunno

Yeah it can be done for a lot cheaper since you can do it yourself with the engine and some fabrication. To do it well on the other hand...

I'm waiting to meet Dendle for a spin in his V6, they usually do it with an XSi or something that isn't a GTi6 for some reason, not sure why though. It does have more torque, but the extra weight over the front end is meant to take some of the handling away though, I suppose it's like a GTi6 205, extra power but you lose some of the fun

Really? I wouldn't.

They do go well. I have been thinking about using my d9 engine on DTA, but it is a lot of work... Problem is that its not mega quick for the effortinvolved.

Takes sod all money to make the clutch work, just use the 406 stuff and adapt the pedal to suit, actually very easy!

Engine conversions can be as reliable or even more reliable than the original car, its about how good you are at making stuff, or following a well trodden path and knowing what works and what doesn't.

Pugplus never went away, he just didnt bother renewing on here.

Not at all, with the right suspension to cope with the extra 20kg its just as fun, light wheels make a good start. V6 though for me is to far forward from suspension which unsettles it a bit plus gbox weights a ton. Would not say no to a 306 converted one though rather than a 205 v6 but thats me.

the clutch is no problem, just convert the 306 pedal box to hydraulic clutch. can either use an internal master cylinder like rally car bias pedal box or use an external one like 206 etc

My shoe laces are fine! LOL but yes i had alot of problems with my clutch, slipping, cables snapping ect... in the end after leaving it sitting for about 4-5 weeks when we had bad snow i had a heap more of problems.
On the upper hand if its done well then there an excellent car, pulled well and went off the clock easy. If i found a good one for the right price i would have another one Smile
