Where's the best place to get standard beam mounts?

I managed to pick up a pair of the forward ones but looking for the back ones. Stealer prices are ridiculous. ECP only seem to do one side and GSF do standard and premium but dont distinguish left and right on their ebay store..

also dont want to buy random crap from ebay.

OEM for rear mounts, steer clear of pattern parts. Has pugplus got any genuine ones?

lemforder are as close as you can get to proper o.e spec afaik, but otherwise go straight to a dealer.

forget the websites, get onto your local branch, better prices usually Thumbs up

The OE beam mounts might be expensive, but the quality is there and in this instance you get what you pay for. I used Lemforder bits when I had quattros and they were just as good as OE - in fact might have even made OE Audi parts. Any cheap rubbish is false economy. You think Pug dealer prices are ridiculous, try running a 1980s Audi quattro.

no its not, not everyone has a track/race car.

what part numbers are you looking at? the late xsara is cheaper, 5131 A2 / A3, £78 / £77 per side, as opposed to £86 for the pug ones.

GSF sell OE ones. You just have to make sure you get them to check what boxes they come in.

I took some to Andy to put to my rear beam and he agreed they were the same as OE, same marks everything

I'm not convinced. Solids made my 205 understeer a lot more on turn in. I also need to source some, but have been putting it off as I wasn't sure about keeping the car. Just changed the front passenger one as it was knocking with a worn original filled with polyurethane. It only has to do 300 miles Smile

Its not too hard tbh, only had an issue on the passenger side as its been lowered (I cut the lower bolt, then replaced it the other way round, slightly trimmed).

Its basically drop the beam on one side (3x16mm in the boot floor), then undo the 2x18mm bolts holding the mount in place. You might need to undo the top shock bolt, but I didn't. If you have a spare wheel and exhaust heat shield you may need to drop those out of the way too. I don't so was straight forward. Smile

I vote solids. I don't doubt that new pug ones will be very very good. But for the what they cost, I just think at least with solids you only change them once and they won't slowly get worse and worse.
They is additional road noise at speed as they don't cancel out the high frequency vibrations, but its mininmal and for me the benefits out weight the negatives.
I love how much confidence there is in the rear end now too.

you'll only need to change oe mount once, these cars will be baked bean tins by the time they need doing again, they are at the very least 12 years old by now don't forget!

I'm with Eliot on the confidence levels in the rear end being increased by changing the mounts. It is so predictable, makes for a much better turn in without the fear of the back end trying to overtake the front. Yes
