Were all the Rallyes 1.3, I thought they were but someone was arguing with me that the later ones were 1.6. I thought they would have all been 1.6 but then who am I to judge what they sell...

Series 2 is 1.6 8v, similar power, more torque, but also more weight.

A lot more torque in S2! But there's something great about winding up that S1's power plant

Some or all of the continental versions of the S2 Rallye got the 16v unit I believe, not much help to OP, just interesting.

Someone on the Rallye register bought it apparently. I like my 16vd s1 for the easily accessible power but it was a lot more fun to drive hard with the 1.3. They really need to be revved like crazy!
