Wings are on a group buy. Bonnet is separate, they are heap enough anyway. ________________________________________ 98 onyx black 306 Rallye53 Nissan Primastar silver (work horse) 58 black Volvo c30 sport |

pete_rallye wrote: In conjunction with fordygti I am looking to get 5 people minimum for a group buy for front wings in fiberglass. Currently he doesn't have a mold for making them, hence the initial minimum number required to assist in the costs involved with making the molds etc. I am buying at least 1 set, so need 4 more people to join in so I can get mine! Cost as long as we get 5 is £110 delivered/set which quite frankly is a bargain. I am looking to get this done asap, so those with genuine, cash waiting interest please put your names down below, once 5 people are on we will require up front payment. 1. Pete 2. midlife 3. I'd be up for it in carbon, but I just cant see the point of FG items when they are replacing a part that's so light already. Pattern wings from a factor will almost be as light and easy to beat around if damaged.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I dont understand why you would get carbon wings because they are a lot more expensive and not much different in weight than the FG ones... Unless you have more money than sense Carbon is half the weight of FG, that would be the reason. FG is not particularly strong so you need more of it to hold its shape and not fall apart. On the smaller stuf that is light anyway you won't see much benefit unless you use something really light. ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Jim is right Carbon is lighter and would be more resilient to minor knocks/bumps. but I'm sure that the fibreglass ones are worthy until possibly we get someone to knock up carbon ones. at this price I'm just experimenting!________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

Right, after weighing up all the metal bits from my door today, and then weighing a standard wing at 2.7kg, I am now in agreement with Jim that the weight saving wouldn't be enough. I don't think you would save more than a kilo which wouldn't justify the cost, so sorry, I'm out!________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |
