Having purchased some fibreglass door skins from mr.fordygti, it has dawned on me that I have no idea how to seperate the skins from the door frame so the frames can be reused.Has anyone done this before and can offer some advice, do's/dont's etc. I'm currently assuming its spot welded and bonded? Also, recommendations for summin good to bond the frames back onto the skins with? Sand away all the edges, and drill out the spot welds with a spot weld drill. It will take you a while...________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Also, might be an idea to tack a framework of some kind to the top part of the door as I bet it will get a little flimsy with the skin off. Once you bond on the new skin, if the door is twisted or warped by the skin removal process it will stay that way. Pete, can you put a pic up of the skin you have please & how much we're they?I'm not sure which Sikaflex to use, there didn't used to be a choice, they use this stuff to stick aeroplane wings together. Your local car body shop trade counter will point you in the right direction.
