Ok people, i need to get my interior lights to stop slow dimming and slow lighting up. Think its a relay but i have pulled them all out and it still does it.

Just want it to be on or off because its for alarm purposes.

Any ideas??

Built into the light unit or part of the central locking ecu etc??

Ph3? If so, its built into the unit in the dash and is quite sensitive to extra load if your planning on running extra lights off the back of the interior light?
What exactly do you need it to do? There are very simple circuits you can get to allow it to come on.

Simply because i spent ages getting the alarm sorted and ran out of time to find the wires from the door switch's, so i linked it up to the interior light so the alarm knows when the door is open.

Works fine unlocking it but you have to wait 10 secs for the lights to go off before you lock it.

What circuits niall??

when i get to work tomorrow, ill find the one i used for my follow me home headlights. Its just a simple relay board we use in fire alarms but cant remember price or manufacturer.

Alternatively, you could use a pulse from the door open micro switch?

Why don't you use the door open micro switch as Niall says?

I could not find the sodding wire for it. If i knew where it was located and possibly a wire number then i would have done it correctly.

Annoyingly the alarm its self only took me a few hours to do inc the immob etc etc but it was door looms i seem to have problems with.

Passenger side: 8612 and m472
Drivers side: 8611 and m623

Both are built into the door lock so wires will be leaving from the door loom. They are negative activated switches.
