I've just been quoted 264 for getting 4 wheels powder coated locally...works out at 66 per wheel. Is this a fairly standard price? I've never had this done before so have noting to compare it to.quote is for 17" wheels including centre caps ________________________________________ 1999 GTi-6 (china blue)1999 Rallye (black) |

This was for tyre removal, blasting (I think/I hope), powdercoat & refitting of tyre - in a day. Sounds a bit on the expensive side then?________________________________________ 1999 GTi-6 (china blue)1999 Rallye (black) |

It sounds about right to me, I've paid around the £280 mark before to have this done. Meirion - You've got to remember that things appear to cost less in Wales than in England/Scotland for some reason, things cost more here unfortunately. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

that's fairly expensive tbh, i'd be tempted to drop bare wheels off, pay about £80-100 for all 4 blasted and coated, and then about £20 for a tyre joey to swap and balance your tyres. my mate had 4 of his Mitsi L200 ones done in gloss black for £160 inc tyre removal and balancing / refitting________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

But does the cheap price guarantee no orange peel if clear coated ?Seems about the right sort of price, quality is worth the extra as it lasts and looks far better, so going cheap could mean paying twice as with anything really. Thing with Wales is their water company is a non profit making business so water is cheaper, plus they have a few extra things we dont so they can afford the cheaper work lol. ________________________________________ Pug fee`ver,Pick a Bogey, buy a Pug. Well not only that, don't you have to bake it at a couple of hundred degrees? Not sure how much tyres would love that. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

I'd expect about £30 each for a cheap and cheerful job just to tart some wheels up, double that for proper prep. and a decent finish, seems about right so long as the job is good.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Seems my quote is about right then. His standard of finish looks good from the stuff I saw waiting to be picked up, I suppose only time would tell as to the quality of the actual coating. ________________________________________ 1999 GTi-6 (china blue)1999 Rallye (black) |

I have heard nothing but good reviews from CAS coatings. Never used them personally but a friend of mine had some alloys done in white and the finish was perfect, and £1 per inch for a basic white or black. Perfect for a quick refurb of winter alloys!http://www.cascoatings.com |

Finally got my wheels done a few weeks back at the place that Smithers recommended. These were standard 15" Cyclones and got them done for 40 per wheel. Came out looking like brand new and very happy with the finish. This price was for removing and scrapping old tyres and not putting tyres back on/rebalancing......worth noting.________________________________________ 1999 GTi-6 (china blue)1999 Rallye (black) |
